Google Updates: September 2026

This summer has been a busy one for Google! Google is expanding its educational offerings with free, standards-aligned microcredentials—including the new Google AI Educator Series and permanently free exam certifications for Level 1, Level 2, and Gemini. NotebookLM has been rebranded to Gemini Notebook for better integration across Google tools, while Google for Education is introducing over 80 new features, such as educator-led AI tools in Google Classroom, Gemini-powered study notebooks, and practice tests. Additionally, GEG Utah is currently looking for new leadership team members for the 2026–2027 school year and invites local educators to join its free community for monthly resources and event updates.
