Instructional Coaching Endorsement

The endorsement is offered to all educators who currently hold a coaching position as part of our job embedded offering. In addition we have an aspiring coaches pathway. The current cohort began in Spring 2024, the next cohort will begin Fall 2025.

The program consists of three courses and will require the participant to demonstrate competency (see application).

Foundations of Instructional Coaching (3 credits)

The purpose of this course is to ensure that those obtaining the Instructional Coaching endorsement are prepared with the requisite, foundational skill-set to effectively coach their fellow educators’ practice to improve student outcomes and overall educator effectiveness.

Adult Learning Theory (3 credits)

This is the second of three courses in that program. The purpose of this graduate-level course is to ensure that those obtaining the Instructional Coaching endorsement are prepared to engage with educators utilizing research-based adult learning principles that foster effective professional learning design and coaching relationships.

Instructional Design and Assessment (3 credits)

The purpose of this graduate-level course is to ensure that those obtaining the Instructional Coaching endorsement can design instruction using research-based strategies that ensure students meet the standards-based learning objectives. This course is designed to be largely completed asynchronously.
